Original blue-green pictorial wrappers (ends chipped with some losses, few parts with small minor stains, part 1 cover misnumbered and crossed out by hand with correct number); quarter morocco drop-back spine box (splitting to front joint). Provenance: Oakley Park (notation at upper margin of every front wrapper).
FIRST EDITION IN ORIGINAL MONTHLY PARTS, virtually complete with every advertisement according to Hatton and Cleaver except for the following: part I is lacking the Bleak House Advertiser and all inserts, part 2 without slip at end, part 3 without Household Words slip at front and slip at end, part 10 lacking fourth ad at end, part 12 without Household Words slip at front, part 15 without second ad at end, part 16 without first slip at end.
