TOLLIVER, Mose (American, 1915-2006) Erotic Abstract Figure. ca. 1980s. House paint on masonite. 24 x 18”. Tolliver was born and raised near Montgomery, Alabama. In the 1960s, he suffered a terrible injury to his legs at his job, when a half-ton of marble fell off a forklift and crushed them. Unable to work, he began painting full-time. Corners worn with surface dirt and other marks overall. Upper left corner and upper center edge has masonite loss. Good condition.
