MANCINO (aka Michele Tarasco, Italian, 20th century). Meat. Oil on canvas, signed by the artist in the lower right corner. Mounted onto a mat, framed. Sight 47 ½ x 31”. Frame size 55 x 38 ½”. Good condition. Notes from his artist statement translated from Italian. “There is no exhibition, from the most prestigious to the humblest, that is not submerged in words. There is a need for silence. It takes silence to learn to see. Art surpasses all explanations and goes beyond the work. Let's not ask ourselves questions about art, let's ask ourselves questions. In art, the fear of making mistakes makes you make mistakes. Being famous in art has only one positive: it allows you to realize ideas that otherwise they would remain so. Art does not need to be motivated by social, mystical, symbolic, political, religious, etc. intentions. When it's art, it's enough on its own. The work of art is one of the consequences of the artist, not the only one. Foam is the aesthetics of soap, art is the aesthetics of life. I don't know any teetotal artists. Chance, randomness, is often more stimulating than something studied, researched or planned.” Third-party shipping required.
