COBB, Humphrey (1899-1944). Paths of Glory. New York: The Viking Press, 1935.
8vo. Original two-tone cloth, boards and spine stamped in gilt (spine toned and rubbed, some rubbing, minor soiling to boards, some wear to gilt, some occasional thumb-soiling to text); original dust jacket (spine toned and edgeworn, some rubbing, occasional chipping, short marginal tears to jacket).
FIRST EDITION. This novel is the basis for the 1957 film starring Kirk Douglas and directed by Stanley Kubrick. The anti-war sentiment of this film caused controversy, and the film was not shown in France (as the film negatively depicts the French Army Command during WWI) until 1975.
