The Collector is the basis of the 1965 thriller starring Terence Stamp and Samantha Eggar, and directed by William Wyler. The French Lieutenant’s Woman is the basis of the 1981 film starring Meryl Streep and Jeremy Irons, and directed by Karel Reisz.
