Zeno 1 Cent Mechanized Chewing Gum Dispenser. Chicago: Zeno Mfg. Co., 1893. Countertop gum dispenser with wind-up mechanism in wooden cabinet with metal accents, painted metal front instruction plate with small window and with small gum dispenser window. With original instruction decals affixed to inner rear door. With lock and key. 9 ½ x 8 ½ x 16 ½”. Mechanism partially works (wind-up dispenser works, but penny chute needs adjustment so penny correctly activates mechanism). Some light wear to case, coin slot chipped with part of metal frame is missing. Still, an excellent example of this rare and unusual gum dispenser.
