Large-format silver gelatin spirit photograph from the wet-collodion glass negative picturing Mr. Jay, seated, with the ghostly image of Abraham Lincoln posed behind him with one hand stretched out over Mr. Jay’s shoulder. 14 × 11". Signed by the artist. From Mr. Jay’s own collection, and the only example printed. See front cover of the auction catalog.
Another spirit photograph of Mr. Jay, titled “Ricky Jay with Circassian Spirit” by Berkman was published in conjunction with a 2005 exhibition at the Christine Burgin Gallery, New York, entitled, “Twixt Two Worlds: Selections from the Collection of Ricky Jay.” This image was created for the video series CONversations with Ricky Jay.
