59 pp., small 4to; original envelope. This is Macdonald’s account of his voyage aboard the steamer “Oceanien” to the Austral Isles. [With:] a typescript of this work and a 4pp. ALS from Macdonald to Mildred Smith (one of Zane Grey’s main secretaries) whom he sent this manuscript to for her review. Includes 2 snapshot photos of Mildred in the South Seas that were from the Zane Grey Estate. Alister was the resident artist for Zane Grey in Tahiti, for whom he provided some book illustrations, and is best known today for his landscape watercolors.
