4to. Over 220 mounted specimens on 55 leaves, many captioned in manuscript. Original cloth (extremities rubbed, color illustration mounted on front pastedown). Provenance: M.H. Humphreys (ownership inscription on front pastedown). Humphreys was listed as a medical practitioner in the late 19th to early 20th centuries and was most likely collecting seaweed for its health-promoting properties.
