[STEADMAN, Ralph, et al, illustrators]. -- DODGSON, Charles Lutwidge (“Lewis Carroll”) (1832-1898). A Wasp in a Wig Exclusive: the missing chapter from Alice [in: “London Telegraph, Sunday Magazine” supplement, 4 September 1977].

Small folio. Color illustrations in the text by Patrick Procktor, Sir Hugh Casson, and Peter Black. Original color pictorial wrappers with an illustration by Ralph Steadman; folding cloth chemise and slipcase.

FIRST APPEARANCE IN PRINT of Dodgson’s “lost galley pages” from Through the Looking-Glass, reproduced in facsimile on pp. 12-15 with commentary by Prof. Morton N. Cohen (who has autographed the first page). Tenniel objected to illustrating this episode so the front wrapper and illustrations within have newly conceived designs by these four British artists.
