[FIGURINES]. A set of 10 hinged, poseable figures, 8 cut-out figures, and a tray, in the style of Talfourd. England, n.d. [ca. 1920s].
Wooden figures, cut-outs and a tray (painted to resemble the croquet garden), all hand-made and hand-painted. These are similar to toys made by the Gitton sisters at Talfourd Cottage (and may be done by them, but have no maker’s marks). Figures are roughly 4” high and smaller. Tray is 12 x 9 x 4”. Minor occasional rubbing, a few small chips. Hinged, poseable figures include the March Hare, Mock Turtle, Mad Hatter, Alice, White Queen, Walrus, Carpenter, Red Queen, Cat, Duchess’ Cook. Flat figures include a duck, two borogroves, macaw, magpie, crab, and two trees.
