First three volumes with frontispieces. Nineteenth-century half brown calf over burgundy cloth boards, spines stamped in blind with brown and blue gilt morocco lettering labels in compartments, five raised bands, marbled endleaves, all edges marbled (spines sunned, binding worn and somewhat soiled, occasional foxing in text). With the bookplates and ownership signatures (title-pages on the first two volumes) of poet Robert G. Dunville (1838-1910). Second edition, differing dramatically from the first edition of 1857, and was considered the superior edition by Dyce himself.
