Contemporary full dark brown morocco, boards ruled and paneled in gilt, spine ruled in gilt, manuscript paper label on spine (binding worn, somewhat soiled, both free endpapers lacking, front blank loose). Provenance: bookplate of F. E. Maser and previous owner’s signature on front blank); bookplate (“Reignolds”) on front pastedown. Rare early printing of the first Protestant New Testament in Italian. Diodati’s modernized Italian translation of the Protestant Bible is still the standard for Italian Protestants to this day.
