Contemporary half brown calf over marbled boards, spine ruled in blind, three raised bands (binding worn, soiled, joints cracked, hinges starting, ink notations on ffep, text toned, soiled, foxing, some gutters over-opened, upper and lower margins trimmed a bit close, with some occasional loss to text). Gutbier was a professor of Oriental Languages at Hamburg, later a professor of Philosophy and Doctor of Theology at the University of Giessen.
