FIRST AMERICAN EDITION IN THE RARE WRAPPERS (commonly seen in the cloth). In an interview for the British Congregationalist (25 November 1909), Doyle explained his keen sympathy with the Congo natives went back several years, and that he wrote The Crime of the Congo to exploit the “ghastly horrors” happening to the Congo people that was brought on by the King of the Belgians.
