DOYLE, Arthur Conan (1859-1930). Our African Winter. London: John Murray, [1929].
8vo. Original gilt-lettered dark blue cloth, covers ruled in blind (spine slightly darkened); ORIGINAL DUST JACKET (spine sunned, some light soiling and rubbing to extremities, small streak of discoloration on rear panel). Provenance: Dr. Crandon (ownership stamp on front pastedown dated 1929).
FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE without white lettering and ruling on covers. Doyle gives his experiences which he and his family had during an extended tour of Africa while promoting psychic research and exposition. Our African Winter was only published in England as the American market cared little about Doyle’s psychic book and even less about the political and economic issues in Africa. Green and Gibson B43a.
