[CIVIL WAR]. Confederate States of America “Bill of Health” for the Cargo Sloop “Buffalo”. Savannah: 28th December, 1863. Printed document on blue paper with manuscript notations. Document for the District of Savannah. Signed “W. Goodunie [?]” at left margin. Approximately 12 ½ x 8”. Three horizontal creases, a few tears at creases, some marginal short tears, chips, creases. A few ink and pencil notes on verso. Very good. A Bill of Health for the sloop, “Buffalo,” with its cargo of cotton, its captain (Lewis Higgins), eight officers and seamen and no passengers, its destination being “Nassau, N. P.” This Bill of Health states that there is no “Plague, Infections, or other contagions or dangerous diseases” on this ship.
