[CIVIL WAR]. PATTISON, Captain Robert (1834-1917). Three Receipts and One Guard Pass Made to Lieutenant (later Captain) Pattison. [V.p., ca. 1860s]. All on ruled paper. Sizes range from 10 ½ x 8” to 2 ½” x 8”. Worn, creased, one receipt is in three pieces (torn along creases). One receipt is signed by Lt. Pattison on verso. Guard pass is dated June 18, 1862 (on blue paper). The receipts are made out to Pattison for personal household goods (including a watch chain, a dress, and a dog leash). Robert Pattison was enrolled in the 16th Illinois Volunteers on 24 May 1861 and honorably discharged 9 October 1864. He served as Lieutenant for most of his service until he was appointed Captain on 18 May 1864.
