[HAND-COLORED PLATES]. [England, ca. 1800s]. Includes “OOH! Would not I do Captain?” Image depicts a seamstress holding eyeglasses, in a melodramatic pose. And “Yae___ough, Cave Amice. Take Heed My Friend.” Image depicts a shouting man (in pain?) with a bandage on his head. Both approximately 11 ½ x 8”. Some rubbing, thumbsoiling, some wear, paper residue on versos. Excellent. Yae___ough is rare - only one other copy is known (in the Yale University Whitney Medical Library). Artists are unknown, but appear to be in the style of some of the caricature artists of the day, including James Gillray or Thomas Rowlandson. From the Mark Rucker Archive.
