[LITHOGRAPHY]. A Collection of 19th c. Masked Ball and Masquerade Tickets and Invitations [V.p., 1824-1890’s]. Lovely and uncommon collection of primarily full color lithographed items. Grouping includes a rare English 1824 “Gent’s Ticket” to a Masquerade Ball, amusingly illustrated by female artist Miss M. Doherty; a scarce engraved ticket to the 1876 German American. “Teutonia Maskenball,”, with stub attached; a large and magnificently illustrated 1884 invitation to a Grand Masquerade Ball “Orange Maennerchor”; a colorful and oversize “Under Cover Ball” 1906 card; an 1872 Annual German Fancy Dress Ball card with animal orchestra playing to harlequins, Sheiks and masked dancers; “Arion” 1883 and 1884 cards; Junger Mannerchor colorful card with parade of masked young people; Prospect Association Grand Masque Ball cards for 1884 and 1885; 1924 Spanish card advertising a Carnival parade float for Jabon Candado and many others.
