CDV on photographer’s mount with the above caption. Photo approximately 3 ½ x 2 ¼”. Mount approximately 4 x 2 ½”. Some minor rubbing, six faint glue spots on verso. Excellent. Rare. Sha-Kpe (or “Shakopee III”) was a Dakota chief (the third chief to hold that name). He was hanged at Fort Snelling on December 14, 1864 for his participation in the U. S. - Dakota War of 1862.
