[MINSTRELSY]. CDV of Minstrel Performer Dan Bryant in Blackface Playing the Bones. [New York: D. Appleton & Co., A. A. Turner, Photographer, [ca. 1870s-1880s]. CDV on photographer’s mount. Photo approximately 3 ½ x 2 ¼”. Mount approximately 4 x 2 ½”. Some light rubbing, thumbsoiling. Excellent. A great image of this famous minstrel performer (his real name was O’Neill). His troupe, Bryant’s Minstrels, were one of the longest lasting minstrel troupes formed before the Civil War. From the Mark Rucker Collection.
