Photo approximately 3 ½ x 2 ¼”. Mount approximately 4 x 2 ½”. Some light rubbing, toning. Excellent. Mitchell was a prominent American actress, with Confederate sympathies (she later softened her views on this). These sympathies, and her charming personality led her to a friendship with John Wilkes Booth, as well as an invitation to meet Abraham Lincoln at the White House. From the Mark Rucker Collection.
