[RAILROADIANA]. “Brooks Locomotive Works, Dunkirk, N. Y. Locomotive Photographs” Catalogue. [Fredonia, NY: Prindle, 1871-1880]. Oblong folio. With 47 albumen prints mounted onto blank leaves (some leaves with one photo mounted, some with photos mounted on recto and verso). Prints are 10 x 15”; blank mounts are 14 x 17”. Album is rebound in half modern dark brown levant morocco, front and rear cloth from original boards preserved, front board with original gilt lettering. Some wear, soiling to boards, leaves and prints wrinkled and soiled, most leaves with contemporary descriptive pencil notes. A few prints soiled. A very good example of this unique item; this album was used at the Dunkirk headquarters of Brooks Locomotive Works to show to prospective clients, and was never mass-produced or published.
