[BASEBALL]. Original AP Composite Proof Photo of Action Photos of Oakland A’s Pitcher Dave Stewart and Boston Red Sox Pitcher Roger Clemens, PSA Type I Authentic. AP, April 30, 1990. Two 5 ¾ x 4 ¼” black and white photos mounted side-by-side on a 7 ¼ x 10” plain white mount with typed caption affixed at upper portion. On verso is the AP inkstamp. Minor rubbing at lower corners, small portions of tape (used to affix the photos to the mount) are visible. A superb example of this one-of-a-kind photo composite. David Keith Stewart (nicknamed “Smoke”) was a starting pitcher for various teams, and is now a baseball executive, pitching coach, and sports agent. Stewart, a member of the Athletics Hall of Fame, pitched for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Philadelphia Phillies, Oakland Athletics, and more. He is a three-time World Series champion and MVP, and recipient of the Roberto Clemente Award. William Roger Clemens (nicknamed “Rocket”) is a legendary MLB pitcher for various teams, including the Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, and Houston Astros. During his career, he was an 11-time All-Star, World Series champion (twice), Cy Young Award winner (7 times), and more. Due to allegations of steroid use (he testified before Congress that he never used steroids but wasn’t believed - he was tried for perjury for which he was acquitted), he was never inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. This composite proof photo is one-of-a-kind as per PSA. Encapsulated by PSA, Type I Authentic. From the Mark Rucker Collection.
