[New York: Salas, 1958]. Original black and white photo (6 ¾ x 8 ¼”) with Salas’ stamp on verso and with pencil notes (“Ted Williams 1958”). Two small neat holes near center (not affecting any people in photo), some toning, marginal rubbing, minor creasing. Excellent. Theodore Samuel Williams is one of the most celebrated and accomplished baseball players of all time. He played for the Boston Red Sox and managed for the Washington Senators and Texas Rangers. A Baseball Hall of Fame inductee, Williams was a 19-time All-Star, AL batting champion (six times), member of the MLB All-Century and All-Time teams. Osvaldo Eustasio Salas was a Cuban-American photographer, who is remembered for his famous photo of Ernest Hemingway with Fidel Castro, as well as his many baseball photos during the 1950s, nearly all of which are in the collection of the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
