NEIL ARMSTRONG’S GOLD MEDAL
[AVIATION]. [ARMSTRONG, Neil A. (1930-2012)]. Aviation Hall of Fame Gold Medal MS64 NGC, Awarded to Neil Armstrong in 1979, Certified and Encapsulated by CAG. 44mm (plus loop) 10K gold medal featuring an enameled version of their logo in red, white, blue, and black on the obverse. The reverse is engraved: “Awarded to Neil Alden Armstrong for Outstanding Contributions to Aviation and Space July 21, 1979”. The National Aviation Hall of Fame was founded in Ohio in 1962 and chartered nationally in 1964. It is “dedicated to honoring individuals who have uniquely contributed to America’s rich legacy of aviation achievement…” Armstrong was inducted upon the tenth anniversary of the Apollo 11 flight.
