[OIL PAINTINGS]. [BONAPARTE, Napoleon (1769-1821), and BEAUHARNAIS, Eugene de (1781-1824), subjects]. Pair of Original Oil Portraits of Napoleon and Prince Eugene. [Ca. 1811]. The portraits (oil on ¾” thick mahogany boards) are displayed in matching wood gilt frames, the portrait of Napoleon similar to others of the 1810-1811 period while the Prince Eugene portrait is more difficult to date, but probably of the same time. Neither is signed. Oval portraits sight approximately 5 ¼ x 3 ¾”. Frames approximately 10 x 8 ½”. The paintings are well executed and in fine condition, the frames with minor age wear - with some warping to wooden gilt mat. Paintings in pairs are rare, especially from this period of the Empire.
