[SPECTACLES AND COMMEMORATIVE CASE]. French Commemorative Spectacles in Original Case. [Ca, 1845]. This is a very rare, fragile and complete set of hand-cut, incised spectacles in the original leather case, the spectacles with a copper frame and the maker’s stamp, “CA” stamped on the inside bridge. The black and gold leather case is supremely decorated with intricate Empire style designs featuring a stylized sun and rays pattern commemorating the Emperor Napoleon. The Case and Glasses are each 4 ½” long. Light rubbing to case and spectacles, spectacles don’t fit entirely into the case. Fine.
