[SHAKO PLAQUES]. Plaque de Bonnet a Poil du Voltigeurs de la 4e Legion de la garde Nationale de Paris. [Paris: ca. 1831-1845]. Uncommon brown metal (copper?) stamped plaque with a bugle, and flaming grenade ball with “4” design (representing the 4th Legion). Approximately 5 ¼ x 5 ½”. A few small holes, minor wear, soiling. Still, very good with nice patina. This pattern was introduced in 1831 after the accession of Louis Phillipe to the throne. It remained in use until the next ‘change’ in 1845.
