[SNUFF BOX]. [BONAPARTE, Napoleon (1769-1821), subject]. Napoleon Coronation Snuff Box. [Ca, 1804]. This circular miniature oil on bone portrait of the Emperor with ormolu gold frame, is set into the glass covered pull-off lid of a tortoise shell box, and shows the newly crowned Emperor in his coronation robes. It was a specially produced gift, given to important attendees at the ceremony. Approximately 3 ¼” in diameter, 1 ¼” high. With two small chips on bottom rim of box. Fine and rare.
