[SNUFF BOX]. British Bone Snuff Box with Original Satirical Miniature in Lid. [England, ca. 1800s]. Circular bone snuff box with pull-off lid, tortoise-shell interior, and with satirical color portrait miniature of a smiling man (a bumpkin?) in a hat inset into lid under glass. Sight of miniature approximately 1 ½”. Size of box: 2 ?” in diameter and ¾” high. 4 minor cracks in lid, some toning, mild soiling. Very good.
