GRANT, Ulysses S. (1822-1885). Inscribed Index Card. [N.p.], June 13th 1867. Framed under glass with a large steel plate engraving (“Executed Entirely with a Steel Pen by Dwight S. Dow.”). Card is inscribed by Grant: “Yours Truly, U. S. Grant General, June 13th 1867.” Card approximately 3 x 5”. Ruled index card. “Yours Truly” a bit smeared, some toning, edgewear to card, lower portion dampstained (not affecting signature, but partially smearing the date). Engraving toned, worn, chipped, soiled, and dampstained. Sight of engraving approximately 25 ¾ x 19 ¼”. Framed under glass. Frame approximately 29 ½ x 23 ½”. Framed with an advertisement card (approximately 2 x 5 ½”) for Dow’s “Commercial Course” (card is chipped). Generally good. Not examined out of frame.
