Orrin’s Matchbox Routine. London: Davenports [?], ca. 1950. Transposition of a stack of matchboxes, which vanish from the top of a small wooden stand, only to appear in a previously empty tube. Clever gimmick for vanishing the boxes from the stand. Overall height 15 ½”. Original instructions. Sold together with Orrin’s On with the Show (London, 1943; green wraps, illustrated), describing the apparatus in print for the first time. Perhaps one of the only magic props to use cloth shells in this way.
