The Peyote cult.” 17 ¾ x 12 5/8”; Curtis described the subject of this image in Vol. 19: “An Old Cheyenne warrior recounts the famous battle of the Washita in 1868, when the tribe was severely defeated by General Custer.” Minor tear upper right corner; some light creasing and discoloration around perimeter.
