Each is a page from Curtis’s “The North American Indian, Vol. 6. The Piegan. The Cheyenne. The Arapaho.” 1. Cutting the Center Pole - Cheyenne. 1911. Facing page 94. Image 7 3/8 x 5 ½”. Very toned paper, stain on bottom edge (not affecting image), creased lower left corner. 2. Boughs for the Altar - Cheyenne. 1911. Facing page 98. Image 5 1/8 x 7 ¼”. Toned paper. 3. Painting the Poles - Cheyenne. 1910. Facing page 110. Image 5 ½ x 7 ¼”. Van Gelder watermark visible; minor stains (not affecting image); minor tear and crease on vellum’s lower left corner, detached from backing paper. Images approx. 5 x 7”; Pages 12 ½ x 9 ½”. All are toned with deckle edges and book binding marks along one edge. Images in very good condition.
