Publisher’s red buckram backstrip over blue cloth boards, spine lettered in gilt, publisher’s unclipped (“$75.00”) dust jacket (some soiling, sunning to binding, text occasionally foxed; jacket with some occasional edgewear and mild wear, a few small tears, chips, jacket verso foxed). Still, near fine. FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY ADAMS ON THE HALF TITLE: “For Helmut Krone Ansel Adams 11.29.79 [flourish]”. Helmut Krone (1925-1996) was an art director and is considered to be a pioneer of modern advertising. It is unclear whether Adams worked directly with Krone, but this is an excellent association from one artist to another.
