Contemporary full vellum over boards, rebacked to style in modern vellum, stamped in gilt in compartments, four raised bands, modern red gilt morocco lettering label, modern marbled endleaves (vellum boards soiled, slightly bowed outward, hinges professionally reinforced with modern cloth, some toning, soiling, foxing to text, occasional worm damage in text, title-page repaired at outer margin). Very good. SECOND EDITION. A handsome and rare work on the measurement of distances, and the use of the compass and dial according to the principles of Euclid.
