Swedenborg began his career as a scientist and inventor, eventually transitioning to a mystic and philosopher, believing that Jesus Christ had instructed him to reform Christianity. The book in this lot is one of the works that Swedenborg wrote in an effort to accomplish his divine mission, and was a foundational work for the Swedenborgian Church in the United States. A wonderful lot of this fascinating chapter of religious faith in the United States. Evans 24599.
