“Woman in Yellow and Teal Patterned Dress” Marshall Field’s Animatronic Christmas Window Display Figure. Chicago: Marshall Field’s, 1982. Large painted plaster figure (“Store Interior; Figure VII”) of a Victorian-era woman in a yellow and teal long skirt, teal top with trim, patterned sleeves and collar, cameo necklace, teal bonnet with teal trim, holding a dress with pink, black, and grey pattern. On wooden base with motor and plug. 41” high. Some wear, motor works, figure does move (head moves up and down, arms raise dress), but needs adjustment (motor makes loud noise when plugged in). Fine. From the collection of the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago. This, and the other Marshall Field's Christmas Window display lots were created by Virginia Paxson in collaboration with the legendary New York design/fabrication firm, Spaeth Design.
