“Woman in Red Coat with Fur Collar” Marshall Field’s Animatronic Christmas Window Display Figure. Chicago: Marshall Field’s, 1982. Large painted plaster figure (“Delivery Wagon Case; Figure VI”) of a Victorian-era woman in a full-length red coat (faille with black damask), lace cuffs with pearls, black had with red feather. Hands were apparently holding an object, but it is missing. On wooden base with motor and plug. 42” high. Some wear, motor barely works, and figure doesn’t currently move. Fine. From the collection of the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago. This, and the other Marshall Field's Christmas Window display lots were created by Virginia Paxson in collaboration with the legendary New York design/fabrication firm, Spaeth Design. Third party shipping required.
