Buster Brown Original Painting. Circa 1940. Oil paint on stretched canvas, unsigned, depicting Buster in his red outfit along with his faithful companion, Tige. It appears to be a professional painting, however the use is unknown. R.F. Outcault created the character of Buster Brown for his comic strip in 1902. The kid with the pageboy haircut became the mascot for the Brown Shoe Company and a nationwide icon. Framed. 14 ¼ x 18 ¼”.
