Hardee’s L’il Chef Promotional Character Costume. 1960s. Thick fiberglass costume made for the ceremonial openings of the early franchise Hardee’s restaurants. This is a rare artifact from the early years of this fast food chain. There is wear to this suit with cracking at some seams with moderate chipping and paint wear. This condition is commensurate with the age and purpose of this prop. Attractive patina. Hardee’s fast food restaurants began in 1961 in North Carolina and became a nationwide chain, eventually adding sister chain Carl’s Jr. to its worldwide franchises. The original mascot for the company, Li’l Chef, is presented here as a solid costume of the French-appearing chef of the brand. 21 x 51 x 17”. Very good with wear.
