Three Marx Windup Cars. [New York]: Louis Marx & Co. ca. 1930s. Group of three tin lithograph windup toy “crazy cars,” with cheeky phrases and puns. Including: “My Lizzie of the Valley / Funny Flivver” with suitcase and dog. – “Whoopee” with a trunk covered in collegiate flags (including Yale and U of Wisc.) and two ladies on the back. – “Henry’s Wildlady / Joy Rider” with suitcase on the side, trunk on the back, and “Ride em rough”. – Length each approx. 8”. All with scattered paint loss; surface abrasions; dust accumulation. Mechanisms all work but are finicky and may need adjustment.
