Students for A Democratic Society (SDS). The Port Huron Statement. Students for A Democratic Society, 1962. The original publication of this important document, created at the first national meeting of the SDS. Printed on side stapled mimeographed pages. This imprint was expanded to 52 numbered pages from the original draft copy of 49 pages that was distributed at the convention. The blue cover has a price of 25 cents with later copies showing 35 cents. Likely lacking the rear cover but otherwise complete. General age toning and margin wear with some loosening at the staples. Very scarce with no copies having been offered at auction. This landmark document was a call for a more participatory democracy, higher participation in civil rights, nuclear disarmament and more.
