[Original “Invincible Iron Man” Comic Book Art]. [Heck, Don (artist) and Craig, Johnny (inker)]. [Goodwin, Archie (story by)]. Full-page artwork for Issue #27, “The Fury of the Firebrand”, p. 26. [New York: Marvel Comics Group, 1970]. 6 panel inked and uncolored page from this controversial story about the misguided villian, Firebrand, instigating a race riot. Firebrand is shown in 5 panels, Iron Man is shown in 3 panels. Iron Man tries talking Firebrand out of murder, but in the end uses his repulsors to free Firebrand’s prisoner, Bradshaw, the corrupt councilman. 15 ¾ x 10 ¾”. Ink stamp on recto (“Iron Man”), ink stamp on verso (“Comics Magazine Code Authority Approved Feb 2 1970” signed by “Lo”), editorial markings, white-out corrections to text, some wear, soiling to corners, some occasional soiling. Fine.
