HUXLEY, Aldous. The Doors of Perception. Harper & Brothers, 1954. First edition (stated), first printing of the U.S. imprint. Slight aging and toning to the book and unclipped dust jacket but still a very nice copy. ‘“One bright May morning,” writes Mr. Huxley, “I swallowed four-tenths of a gram of mescalin dissolved in half a glass of water and sat down to wait for the results.” One of the results was this most unusual and compelling book.’ (from the front jacket flap).
