[EPHEMERA]. Group of Nearly 40 Assorted Items from Gay Bars and Shops from Chicago, Including Gold Coast and the Chicago Eagle. [Chicago: ca. 1980s]. Eclectic group of matchbooks, business cards, keychains, embroidered patches, pins, notepads, etc. from gay establishments in Chicago. Some rubbing, occasional soiling, toning, some agewear. Generally near fine. Some of the items from the Gold Coast include: Business cards (1138 Clark Street, Phone DE. 7-9110), a note pad and loose sheets (“501 N. Clark”), 4 matchbooks in various designs, 1 round and 3 arched embroidered patches, a gold-plated pin, a metal keychain, and 2 pinbacks. Also with numerous business cards from “The Leather Cell Chicago’s Leather Toy Store (Downstairs at the Gold Coast)”, and a gold-plated pin. And an ashtray with the “International Mr. Leather” logo, 3 enamel pins and 1 pinback from the Chicago Eagle, a greeting card from the Chicago Eagle with art by Etienne (one tear to the rear of the card), and matchbooks from Male Hide Leathers, Inc., Man’s Country (3 matchbooks), Zolar, and The Club Bath Chain (2 matchbooks).
