SCHON, Erhard [Attribution] (German, 1491-1542) Army Train and Death. Circa 1532. Woodblock prints on paper. 4 attached sheets. 12 ¼ x 60”. Frame (Plexiglas): 15 x 62 ½”. Variation in saturation of ink from sheet to sheet. Free sheets hinged. Work was rolled and has crease marks from rolling overall. At perimeter edges multiple areas of small tears and repaired or patched paper loss. One small hole one eighth inch in diameter, 3rd panel from left, lower edge. Paper toned in varying degrees. This is also next to an area of restoration with added ink. Multiple areas of foxing and staining. Provenance: Christie’s London.
