Six prints including: “Storming Fort Wagner.” A rare and significant Civil War scene showing the Union soldiers of the African American 54th Massachusetts Regiment–the first military unit consisting of Black soldiers to be raised in the North during the Civil War–storming the walls of Fort Wagner on Morris Island, South Carolina, and engaging Confederate soldiers in hand-to-hand combat. Excellent condition. – “Battle Between the Monitor and Merrimac.” – “Battle of Spotsylvania.” – “The Battle of Shiloh.” Tear upper left quadrant– “Capture of Fort Fisher”. – “Battle of Lookout Mountain.” – “The Battle of Shiloh.” A few tears in the upper left quadrant. – Each with battle dates, locations, and detailed lower margin. Each matted and framed, without glass. Frame 30 ½ x 35 ½”; sight 19 x 26 ½”. Not examined out of frame. All appear previously restored. Colors are bold and vibrant. Some with toning, damping stains, and minor tears.
